The Golden State Warriors launched a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Collection on Tuesday morning, making them the first professional sports team to do so.
“The digital collectibles’ excitement is palpable,” said Warriors Chief Revenue Officer Brandon Schneider
Individual auctions for one-of-a-kind items are scheduled as well, like a physical ring created by Jason from Beverly Hills that recalls all six Warriors’ NBA Championships, and experiences such as signing a one-day contract with the franchise and getting together with the team.
The bidder that buys the first edition of every championship ring will also receive an appropriate physical ring designed by Jason of Beverly Hills.
Part of the total auction proceeds will go to the Warriors Community Foundation, which has donated over $22.5 million to Alameda and San Francisco counties through tuition benefits, renovated basketball fields, and donated playing passes.
