What is Versus?

SportsWriters has created Versus. A new way to compare and debate articles written by two sports writers with clashing views. SportsWriters identifies a hot topic and locates two writers (typically from different markets) who have expressed an opinion on that topic, and have written an article with supporting arguments.

The result is a thought provoking opinion match up.

  • Versus presents each article, side by side, with a summary of key points.
  • Readers can rate the match up, and comment on who makes the more compelling argument.
  • Directly below the match up, readers provide their critical comments.
  • What makes Versus unique, is that you can see how each commenter voted, and you can rate their comment.
  • Writers get rated on their article, and Members on their comments.

Everything is up for debate with Versus!

Key points:

What NBA team should trade for James Harden?

Celtics get: James Harden, P.J. Tucker Danuel House and Ben McLemore

Rockets get: Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, Gran Williams, Romeo Langford, Payton Pritchard, Aaron Nesmith, 2021 and 2023 first round picks

Involving James Harden in the trade is a nonstarter

What NBA team should trade for James Harden?

Knicks get: James Harden

Rockets get: Julius Randle, Barrett, Robinson, Knox, Dallas 2021 1st round pick and Knicks 22-24 1st round picks

This is certainly a haul. It’s reminiscent of what the Knicks had to give up to get Carmelo at the 2011 deadline. It should still be on the table, though.

Not sure I like the Knicks giving that much up, but NY needs the star power.

I like the Celtics deal but I don't believe their front office would give up that much.
