Miami Heat center Meyers Leonard has issued an apology after a video circulating shows him using an anti-Semitic slur while live-streaming a game of Call Of Duty on Twitch.
He has since issued an apology, and has declared that he did not know the meaning of the word.
Leonard had about 58,000 followers on Twitch as of Tuesday afternoon. An avid gamer, Miles also has investment in the esports organization FaZe Clan since 2019.
The Heat has a team option on his contract for next season, which means that the club, which is owned by Israeli-American businessman Micky Arison, can cut him, saving Arison around $10 million.
Leonard has averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 boards in 447 career games (93 starts) with the Portland Trail Blazers (2012-19) and Heat (2019-21).
