LeBron James says that he wants to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers until he is ready to retire.
James expressed those thoughts on Monday while promoting the new “Space Jam” movie on the “SmartLess” podcast.
“I truly hope that I can finish my career with the Lakers,” said James. “However many years that is, if it’s four, five, six, whatever, seven. I hope I can continue to play the game. I love being in L.A. My family loves being in L.A. Being with a historical franchise like the Lakers is something like, it’s like me being in ‘Space Jam’ now. I never thought it’d be possible.”
James moved from Cleveland to Los Angeles in 2018. This past December, the 36-year-old signed an $85 million, two-year extension deal with the Lakers that will keep him with the team until 2023.
