The Los Angeles Clippers announced that Kawhi Leonard underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a partial tear of his right ACL.
According to the press release, there is no timetable for his return and he may miss part of the 2021-2022 season.
The Clippers refused to specify the injury suffered by Leonard when he collided with Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles in game 4 of the Western Conference series. Instead, they referred to it simply as a “knee sprain.”
The 30-year-old played in 52 of 72 games in the regular season and averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. He also averaged 30.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 39.3 minutes per game in 11 playoff games.
