Brooklyn Nets shooting guard James Harden has opened up on his decision to leave the Houston Rockets. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the 2018 NBA MVP revealed his motive for moving to the Big Apple.
“I want to build my business side and my brand side more than it already is,” Harden said. “That was one of the reasons I wanted to come to New York and Brooklyn.”
Harden also praised his fellow All-Star teammates, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and wanted to contribute to the team as much as possible.
“My main focus is trying to get everybody involved and have each guy make an impact on the game,” said the 31-year-old.
Harden was traded to the Brooklyn Nets earlier this year. He achieved a triple-double in his debut, scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists versus the Orlando Magic.
