Detroit Tigers first baseman and designated hitter Miguel Cabrera entered the exclusive 500 Home Run Club after his game against Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.

The 38-year-old started in MLB in 2003 with the Florida Marlins and has a career .311 batting average and 2,955 hits.

Cabrera’s teammate, Robbie Grossman, expressed his admiration towards the former World Series champion.

“He’s going to go down as probably the greatest right-handed hitter of all time,” Grossman said. “I’m just lucky I get to be around him and be in the same clubhouse as him. I can tell my kids one day I got to play with him. At this point, I don’t think anything that he does surprises me. He is just an unbelievable player.”

Miguel “Miggy” Cabrera, was born in Maracay, Venezuela. He came to the United States and was signed by the Florida Marlins in 1999 when he was just 16 years old as an amateur free agent.

Cabrera then made his professional debut in 2003 with the Marlins and helped the team win a World Series title by defeating the New York Yankees that same season.
