Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Baker Mayfield has sustained multiple injuries this season, including a separated left shoulder, knee, and a bruised heel. However, he played through all of that on Sunday and led his team to 13-10 win over the Detroit Lions.

Many suggested that coach Kevin Stefanski rest Mayfield for the Lions game, but Stefanski stood his ground.

“Ultimately, we, organizationally, try to make the best decision we can with all of the information we have available to us with all of our guys,” Stefanski said as per WKYC 3News’ Ben Axelrod. “Certainly with each player, you talk to them, as well, and see where they are.”

Mayfield, visibly disgruntled, did not speak to reporters after the Lions game and went straight to the locker room.

“The guy is really tough,” left guard Joel Bitonio said of Mayfield. “He plays hard and wants to win badly. He’s our leader, so we follow that and we’ve got to keep protecting him and keep him upright so we can have him down the stretch.”
