In a recent development involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has been accused of sexual misconduct, his charges have been declined by a grand jury in Brazoria County in Texas, as per multiple reports.

The grand jury’s decision means that Cleveland’s new recruit will not be charged with any of the crimes involving 22 civil lawsuits made towards him by over 20 women who have accused him of harassment and sexual assault.

“After a careful and thorough review of the facts and evidence documented in the reports prepared by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department, as well as hearing testimony from witnesses, the Grand Jury for Brazoria County has declined to charge Deshaun Watson with any crimes,” the county’s district attorney Tom Selleck said in a statement. “Accordingly, this matter is closed.”

A response by the NFL read, “We continue to closely monitor all developments in the matter, which remains under review of the personal conduct policy.”

All along, the three time Pro Bowl player claimed he was innocent and that the sexual activity he did according to the lawsuit was consensual. But, the 22 women who had accused him said the QB “performed” said activity against their will.
