The Denver Broncos traded an impressive amount of players and draft picks to complete a blockbuster trade for quarterback Russel Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.
The trade was close to completion as Wilson and his agent Mark Rodgers arrived in Denver. According to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis, the quarterback then went to the Broncos facility and finished his physical exams.
Wilson then signed his no-trade provision, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and now he waits for the trade to become official when the new NFL year starts on March 16.
“My understanding was this was the only team Russell Wilson wanted to go to,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. “Russell Wilson wanted to go to the Denver Broncos. It’s a place he likes … and they have a roster that is essentially stacked at receiver, on defense, at running back. All they needed was a quarterback, and they got one.”
In 2012, Wilson was a third-round pick out of Wisconsin and started as a rookie. Wilson then started 149 regular-season games and 16 playoff games. The Seahawks won their only Super Bowl title with a 43-8 victory with Wilson onboard.
The 33-year-old was prompted to miss three games last season due to a fractured middle finger on his right hand.
According to the NFL Network, the Wilson deal came with a fourth-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-rounder, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive end Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant.

Still can’t believe they didn’t hand off to Marshawn
Afc west about to be a total warzone
Hope they have enough money to keep a good O line for the rest of his career. He ain’t getting faster.
Dobby got his sock. Dobby is a free elf.
This harkens me back to all the other times NFL teams have traded away a potential future hall-of-famer still in the prime of his career and it worked out just great.
This is a major blow to the Larson Automotive Group in Tacoma. MAJOR.
Two more tough games for Mahomes next season, two more tough games for Herbert next season. We should be having an upvote party for this one!
Looks like 4th place in the NFC West is a Lock.
Thankful everyday for Mac, Zac and Tua
He and his wife sang to my nephew in Seattle children's hospital. He was there every Tuesday that he was in town before covid. No press. Good human. Sad to see him leave.
