The last time the Seattle Mariners hosted the All-Star Game was back in the early 2000s, and that is about to change.
Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that the MLB has chosen T-Mobile Park, the Seattle Mariners’ home stadium, to host the 2023 All-Star Game. The Los Angeles Dodgers, meanwhile, will host the game next year.
Seattle last hosted the All-Star Game on July 10, 2001, when the stadium was still known as Safeco Field. It was there that the American League defeated the National League 4-1.
While the MLB has yet to name the hosts for the 2024 and 2025 All-Star Games, it is certain that the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park will host the game in 2026, just in time for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing in Philadelphia.
The Tampa Bay Rays have never been selected to host the event, while teams like the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers last hosted in the 1990s.
This year’s All-Star Game was scheduled for Atlanta. However, MLB moved the game to Denver at the last minute in response to Georgia’s controversial voting law.

Oh heck yeah what a great thing to see this morning
T-Mobile Park, a retractable-roof jewel that's nearly a quarter-century old but still is regarded as one of the game's best stadiums, has gone nearly 20 years without a game of great significance, with 2001 also being the last year the Mariners made the playoffs. ................ouch
Cancel the HRD, we are having a Pop Fly Derby to see who can hit one as high as the Space Needle
Julio Rodriguez gonna put on a show in the HR derby
Seattle’s third all-star game! The last time we hosted the Mariners won 116 games. Forgot how that season ended though… weird
2023: Seattle Mariners AL West champs, you heard it here first.
They’re gonna have a squad that year too. May consider the trip for this one
Huh, they had it in 2001. Seems quick to go back? Wrigley hasn't had it since 1990.
Denver in 2021 Los Angeles in 2022 And now Seattle in 2023! Quite the West Coast swing for the All-Star Game!
Time to get Ichiro to come out retirement so that he can finally do that home run derby.
