Baseball’s most influencing sport’s agent, Scott Boras, has expressed his discontent with the current MLB’s trading system that practically allowed the Atlanta Braves to clinch their World Series title since 1995.
“It’s not about the Atlanta Braves or about their general manager or ownership,’’ Boras said. “It’s really about the rules and the rules that allowed them to be a less-than-.500 team on August 1, and add from teams that no longer wanted to compete, and for very little cost.”
Atlanta, which was a sub-.500 team until August 6, managed to successfully make six trades before the July 30 deadline that helped jolt the team to the NL East title and an 88-76 record.
The Braves defeated the 95-win Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Division Series, beat the 106-win Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS, and surpassed the 95-win Houston Astros in the World Series.
“The Atlanta Braves are the Atlanta Braves because tanking teams said, ‘I want to get to the bottom to get those draft picks,’” Boras said. “It created an incentive for the race to the bottom. Being non-competitive, trading off their players, is making the game and the season very different than what it was intended to be. This is the Easter Bunny delivering rotten eggs.”

Our team is filled with high picks as a result from tanking but sure the team who’s built on international FA, bargain mid season trades, rebuilding relievers is the one who succeeded from tanking.
Ok it's time to shut the *** up Boras.
All teams had the ability to add players at the deadline to address their weaknesses. We just so happened to kick ass at it and made the rest of the league our bitch. It’s called strategy, and we’re those motherfuckers who are good at it. Big brains win the World Series fair and square.
Screw this guy. Does He just want the Dodgers and Yankees to trade championships year after year? The Braves didn’t acquire anyone at the time who was considered to be on the level of Scherzer and Turner and the Dodgers got their asses beat. Guy is a cancer to the sport.
Well, the Mets unintentional tanking in 2021 was epic.
This dude is a bonafide clown. Our division was bad because it was bad. The Mets and the Phillies weren't tanking, so we didn't slip into the playoffs because of that. We didn't play anyone "tanking" in the playoffs.
Lame attempt at tough talk from a little bitch that's made bank for decades on owners willing to recklessly disgorge their wallets on free agents (looking at you, Steinbrenner).
He does realize the reason small/mid market teams have to tank and rebuild is because they can’t afford the contracts being driven by big agents LIKE HIMSELF. He is one of the biggest reasons there is for the erosion of competitive balance in the MLB. Can’t stand that guy
Here's the entire article summarized in one quote: >Boras represents many top draft picks and has lost revenue because of the system of draft signing pools.
The little quips about the players he represents at the end are what nightmares are made of. “St Nick is going to bring some presents. We’re going to see what teams have been naughty or nice”. Jesus
