Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers showed once again their dominance over the Chicago Bears, as they defeated the Bears 24-14 on Sunday.
The Packers and the Bears, as two of the oldest franchises in the NFL dating back to 1919, have developed a deep rivalry between them. This latest victory sealed the Packers’ fifth straight win over Chicago. Green Bay has a 20-3 overall record against the Bears over their past 23 meetings.
Rodgers himself threw 17-for-23 for 195 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. But the 37-year-old stole the headline with his taunting words toward the Bears fans during the last five minutes in the fourth quarter.
“All my f—ing life, I own you,” Rodgers shouted at the crowd, according to ESPN. “I still own you. I still own you.”
When asked about this, the reigning NFL MVP explained light-heartedly to the reporters.
“Sometimes you blackout on the field,” he said, “and I blacked out, in a good way,” Rodgers said. “I looked up in the stands, and in the front row, all I saw was a woman giving me the double bird. I’m not sure exactly what came out of my mouth next.”
So far, so good for the Packers, as they have won five games in a row. Next, head coach Matt LeFleur’s team returns to Lambeau Field to host the Washington Football Team in Week 7.
