The Green Bay Packers traded wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a first-round and a second-round draft pick.

The five-time Pro Bowler reportedly will receive $28.25 million per year in a five-year contract worth $141.25 million, making him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, Ian Rapoport reported.

According to multiple reports, Green Bay offered the exact amount as Las Vegas did to the wide receiver prior to the trade, but Adams reaffirmed his decision and prefered to play somewhere else.

In addition, before the trade unfolded, Adams refused to play for the Packers under the franchise tag. He appeared to aim for a long-term contract with the team, but Green Bay is running out of cap space.

Adams join college friend QB Derek Carr in Las Vegas under head coach Josh McDaniels.

The Packers might have lost their superstar wide receiver indeed, however, the high-value draft picks from the Raiders are something they can work with.
