Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is reportedly setting his sights on three Super Bowl contending teams: the Kansas City Chiefs, the Green Bay Packers, and the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
“On the day in which he could make his final decision, free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. is honing in on the Chiefs, Packers and Saints, per league sources,” Russini reported on Wednesday.
The New England Patriots are also “definitely in” on Beckham, as per Pro Football Talk, and the Seattle Seahawks are “very much in the conversation” for Beckham as well, according to Jake Heaps of ESPN 710 Seattle.
NFL Network’s Mike Giardi confirmed Pro Football Talk’s reporting on New England’s interest in the former Pro Bowl player.
“I have no idea what Odell Beckham wants, aside from targets, catches, and TDs, but I talked to a couple of important staffers in Foxboro and was told ‘he’s not vintage OBJ’ but still ‘plenty good’ and ‘would work’ in this offense, #Patriots,” Giardi wrote on Twitter. “The #Patriots believe the mutual respect between Belichick and OBJ places them in position to be a real player in this.”
The Chiefs and the Packers could work for Beckham since they offer an elite quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers, respectively, while New Orleans is Beckham’s hometown team where he attended high school and was a student at Louisiana State University.
