LeBron James could return versus Boston Celtics
The Los Angeles Lakers-Boston Celtics legendary rivalry seemed too important for Lakers superstar LeBron James to miss.
The Lakers are hosting the Celtics on Friday, and James could be back on the court, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who broke the news on Twitter: “There’s growing optimism that LeBron James could make his return to the Lakers vs. Boston on Friday (ESPN, 7:30 PM), sources tell ESPN. James has been out two weeks with an abdominal strain. Lakers start five-game road trip in Milwaukee on Wednesday.”
The 36-year-old has averaged 24.8 points, seven assists and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. His 46.7 percent field goal percentage is the lowest since his debut season.
The Lakers, who have lost seven out of 15 games, will face the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. The 2020 NBA champions are currently sitting in 7th position in the Western Conference.
Not only the Lakers, but James himself, is very familiar with the Celtics, dating back to his playing days in Cleveland and Miami. The four-time NBA champion has played in 54 regular-season games against the Celtics so far, including 41 postseason games.
