The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Orlando Magic 150-108 on Tuesday at Amway Center to record their fourth consecutive win.
In the game, Nets star guard Kyrie Irving recorded a season-high 60 points, the first 60-point game of his career. He also had four assists and six rebounds.
He did it after watching fellow teammate forward Kevin Durant achieve a 53-point record performance against the Knicks on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Nets were found to have violated the city’s health and safety protocols for letting Irving enter the locker room in a Sunday game at Barclays Center. This cost Brooklyn a $50,000 fine.
Regardless, Nets head coach Steve Nash praised Irving for his stellar performance adding, “he’s just incredible.”
“I felt like he had my career highlight reel in the first 12 minutes of the game,” Nash said. “It’s special to watch him every night, but it’s special to watch him on nights like this, where he’s in total control, total command.”
The seven-time NBA All-Star broke his own personal record of 57 points, which he set in 2015 while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers against the San Antonio Spurs.
Sitting tight in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, Nash’s men are scheduled to take on the Dallas Mavericks next.
