Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick might not have played in the NFL since the 2016 season, however, he still wants to come back to the league if the opportunity presents itself.
In an interview with Ebony, Kaepernick revealed his daily training schedule to keep his body fit and ready
“I am still up at 5 a.m. training five, six days a week making sure I’m prepared to take a team to a Super Bowl again,” Kaepernick said. “That’s not something I will ever let go of, regardless of the actions of 32 teams and their partners to deny me employment. The same way I was persistent in high school is the same way I’m gonna be persistent here.”
He pauses and then adds, “And you’re gonna have to continue to deny me and do so in a public way. And you’re gonna expose yourself by that, but it won’t be because I’m not ready or not prepared.”
Kaepernick first grabbed the nation’s attention when he and several other African-American football players decided to kneel during the national anthem at the start of NFL games in 2016 to protest police brutality and racial injustice in the United States.
The 33-year-old has been busy with non-football-related issues, such as working with his non-profit group, Know Your Rights Camp, and continues to combat racial and social injustice.
He is also working on his latest project, a Netflix series based on his high school experience titled “Colin in Black and White.”

@Kaepernick7 You're not Ali. You gave up nothing to make your point. @Nike & their sweat shop merch pays you well. Remember T. O.? Ocho Cinco? Keyshawn? Why wouldn't people sign them? They brought baggage. So do you. #REALITY
