Boston Bruins winger Jake DeBrusk managed to pull off a hat trick in the last minute of the second period, securing a sweet 7-0 victory for the Bruins in Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings.
The 25-year-old’s hat trick is a testament to his impressive career in the NHL, as he scored the three goals and added one assist. The young star achieved both his first career hat trick and four-point game.
“But an inch here, an inch there, it’s in the net or it’s not in the net. It kind of makes you giggle, but it’s a very rewarding feeling because it’s one of those things where I personally had to wait for probably around three years to feel this kind of trend,” DeBrusk said.
The victory extended the Bruins’ winning streak to five games, and as for DeBrusk, he is one of the franchise’s top liners alongside fellow left wing Brad Marchand and center captain Patrice Bergeron. But the game’s centerpiece is DeBrusk, having the highest stats on his team.
In addition to DeBrusk, the team’s offense was aided by Erik Haula (two goals), Patrice Bergeron (one goal and two assists), and Taylor Hall (one goal).
The Eddie Shore Award winner has five goals and two assists in the past three games.
On a Thursday game against the Seattle Kraken, DeBrusk scored twice and achieved his first ever multi-game goal within more than two years.
Coach Bruce Cassidy’s men are hungry to win more games with the Bruins currently on a season-high 3-0, six-game trip, and five overall wins in a row.
