The Indianapolis Colts have acquired former NFL MVP quarterback Matt Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a third-round draft pick.
Indianapolis had been on the lookout to add a new addition to their QB roster after releasing Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders.
Since the Falcons were keen on getting Houston Texans’ Deshaun Watson, Atlanta had to cut someone, and Ryan’s name was on top of the list. Sure enough, the four-time Pro Bowler was sent to Indy in exchange for a third-round pick. And, in the end, it did not work well for Atlanta since Watson decided to join the Cleveland Browns.
Worth mentioning is the fact that prior to Watson choosing to go to the Browns, reportedly both Ryan and the Falcons were involved in discussions with the Colts for a possible trade.
In addition, the relationship between Ryan and the Falcons was getting worse since the franchise owed the QB $23.75 million next season.
Ryan’s Awards and Honors

- First-team All-Pro (2016)

Colts fucking robbed Atlanta on that if that's all they got.
What a steal for the Colts. We really don't deserve Matt. What an ungrateful fan base and incompetent organization.
Only a third round pick??? That’s a steal for a franchise QB
