Florida Panthers winger Patric Hornqvist bagged two goals and the Panthers extended their winning streak to four games with a 6-2 victory over the Calgary Flames at FLA Live Arena on Tuesday.

Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 47 saves and Brandon Montour contributed three assists for the Panthers (22-7-4).

“Anybody that watches a hockey game and turns on the Florida Panthers right now is going to be entertained,” Panthers coach Andrew Brunette said. “When we get wave after wave and we get everybody rolling, we’re a pretty dangerous hockey team.”

Brunette shared that his side took control early during the first period and that made them able to dictate the flow of the game.

“With our situation being so fluid, we’re getting guys in and out,” he noted. “It’s nice to see a couple go in. Both power-play goals were huge in the first period, which I didn’t think was our best.”

Meanwhile, Flames coach Darryl Sutter was not particularly happy with his team’s performance.

“You give up that many goals, you’re not going to win,” Sutter said. “We had some defensemen that weren’t into the defending or checking part of the game and it cost us the hockey game.”

Calgary forward Matthew Tkachuk also laid out why they lost by such a huge margin post-game.

“We left (Markstrom) out to dry on pretty much all of them, whether it’s turnovers or not picking up guys or just not getting pucks out or not having your guy,” Tkachuk said. “We lost each period, so our mindset going into the game is the exact opposite, it’s to win each period. It’s not a recipe for success how we played tonight.”

Next, the Flames are up against the defending champion the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Panthers travel to Dallas to face the Stars.
