Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz sprained both of his ankles in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
“It’s still sore. Both of them,” Wentz told Indianapolis Star. “Each day, each couple of hours, it’s gotten better, so we’ll kind of just see how it continues to progress, listen to the doctors, listen to my body and see where we’re at.”
The 28-year-old had MRIs on both ankles Monday, and no structural damage was found.
“A lot of treatment,” Wentz said when asked what he’s doing during rehabilitation. “We’re throwing the kitchen sink at it, trying to get healthy. A lot of that. Still studying tape and trying to be mentally locked in, but I’m doing everything I can to get the swelling down and get it healed.”
Wentz did not participate in Wednesday’s practice session at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.
Head coach Frank Reich said the team is monitoring Wentz’s condition closely.
“We’re just continuing to monitor it day by day,” Reich said. “He feels a little bit better than he did yesterday but we have to monitor it day by day.”
Reich is now preparing Jacob Eason, who replaced Wentz in the game against the Rams, to potentially start against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.
