The Minnesota Vikings have secured New York Jets tight end Chris Herndon, according to The Athletic. NFL Network also reported and confirmed the news on Tuesday.

The Jets will get the Vikings’ 2022 fourth-round pick and sixth-round pick in the NFL draft in exchange for Herndon.

Herndon, who played college football at the University of Miami, signed a four-year contract with the Jets after being selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft.

The 25-year-old made his professional debut in a Jets’ jersey in a 48-17 win against the Detroit Lions. At the end of his rookie season, he was chosen to the PFWA All-Rookie Team with 39 catches for 502 yards and four touchdowns.

The following year was difficult for Herndon. He was suspended for the first four games by the NFL for substance abuse. Later, he sustained a rib fracture during a game against the New York Giants and missed the rest of the season.

Last season, Herndon had 31 catches for 287 yards and three TDs for the Jets.
