Albert Pujols reportedly is set to make his return to the St. Louis Cardinals with a one-year, $2.5 million deal, as per multiple reports.

Previously, the 42-year-old was signed to a one-year contract deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers after parting ways in a 2021 midseason release from another LA franchise, the Angels.

Pujols spent 11 years with the Cardinals and the team undoubtedly was keen on signing their beloved player again.

Looking back, Pujils played 1,705 games with St. Louis and is 21 home runs away from hitting 700 career home runs.

As a Cardinal, he also earned two Gold Glove Awards (2006 and 2010), had nine All-Star appearances, and two World Series championships (2006 and 2011).
