Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals are enjoying their best season yet with a perfect 7-0 record so far.
The 24-year-old quarterback will be up against the reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (6-1) for the first time in Murray’s career at State Farm Stadium on Thursday.
“He’s up there,” said Murray of Rodgers on Tuesday. “He’s probably my favorite quarterback to watch — his swag, the way he plays the game, what he’s done in his career. I admire his game a lot. First time playing against him, first time being able to meet him. It’s pretty cool, I’m looking forward to it.”
On the other hand, Rodgers acknowledges how important Murray’s role and leadership is for the Cardinals — and that’s something for the 24-year-old Murray.
“He’s a talented guy, and there’s a lot of guys that are doing what he’s doing, and they can attack you in so many ways when you got a guy like that,’ Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show. “He’s talented; arm talent is fantastic.”
Rodgers praised him further, adding the Packers will face a serious challenge in Week 8.
“He can run around all over the place—one of, if not the, fastest guys on the field most of the time,” said Rodgers. “And the weapons that they got […] we’re gonna have to keep up with them scoring-wise. They’ve been very consistent offensively, and we’re gonna have to find a way to score some points.”
