In classic NFL style, a fight broke out in Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

The Bucs won the game 20-10 and star quarterback Tom Brady finally was able to defeat the Saints after four straight losses to them since his arrival in Tampa in 2020.

The Bucs and Brady’s redemption arc, along with an intense rivalry with their arch-nemesis, were not the only events that transpired Sunday. Instead, a brawl between players of both teams hit major news headlines this week — and it all began with a few words exchanged between Brady and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

Unlike Lattimore, the seven-time Super Bowl champ was not dismissive of the exchange. Instead, Brady walked back to the CB who had a heated encounter with Bucs running back Leonard Fournette.

As the 15-time Pro Bowler was prepared to throw some fists with Lattimore, Brady’s teammate, wide receiver Mike Evans, quickly joined the fray and the inevitable chaos ensued, which resulted in both Evans and Lattimore being ejected from the game.

After the game, Evans told reporters how he got into the brawl. “That’s Tom Brady, what do you want me to do?,” he said. “It gets spicy when you come to New Orleans. They’re a good team, physical team. All I see is Lattimore punch Lenny in the face or something like that. And push Tom. I just pushed him,” Evans recalled.

Sunday was not the first time Evans and Lattimore were involved in a fight. The two go back to 2017 when they were in a brawl.  However, instead of Brady, it was about former Bucs now Saints QB Jameis Winston.

“You ran toward that area on the field and violently threw your body into and struck an unsuspecting opponent who was part of that confrontation. You knocked your opponent to the ground and a melee ensued involving players from both teams. Your aggressive conduct could have caused serious injury to your opponent and clearly does not reflect the high standards of sportsmanship expected of a professional.”
