The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have rewarded a fan who gave up Tom Brady’s 600th touchdown pass-ball after receiving it from Mike Evans.

The fan, Bryon Kennedy, was given two signed jerseys, Brady’s helmet, an Evans’ signed jersey and game-used cleats, $1,000 worth of team store credit, and two season tickets for the rest of the 2021 season and the entirety of the 2022 season, Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times reported.

Brady also suggested rewarding Kennedy more. He said on Twitter, “Hey @FTX_Official, let’s make a trade… Let’s get this guy a Bitcoin.”

Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldin estimated that the ball is worth at least $500,000. He tweeted:

“After catching @TomBrady’s 600th career touchdown, @MikeEvans13_ accidentally gave the ball to a fan. Given how historic this ball is as the first 600th TD in NFL history, I’d estimate this ball to be worth a minimum of $500,000 (and possibly much more).”

Not realizing the significance of the ball, Evans had given Brady’s 600th touchdown-pass ball to a fan in the stands. As Evans returned to the bench, a Buccaneer’s staff member informed him of the ball’s historic value.

Another staff member then approached Kennedy and retrieved the ball and made a deal.

“I knew how much it meant to Tom,” Kennedy said on Sunday, “and I was willing to trade.”

“It’s really cool,” Brady said about the incident. “I got it in the bag over there. Mike gave it away and said ‘Man, I’m sorry.’ I said ‘That’s all right, I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get it back.'”

“I don’t actually keep too many things,” Brady added. “In that circumstance I felt like that might be a good one to keep. He’s going to get something nice in return. We’ll give him a helmet, a couple of jerseys or something.”
