Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave an update on his lineup as the Cleveland Browns prepare for their next game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.
“Case Keenum will be our starter tomorrow night and we have full confidence in him to lead us and do the things necessary to put us in position to win,” Stefanski said.
Stefanski also commented on Baker Mayfield and his condition following an injury to his left non-throwing shoulder.
“Baker fought really hard to play, he’s a competitor and obviously wants to be out there but just couldn’t make it on a short week,” said Stefanski. “We know he will continue to do everything in his power to return as quickly as possible.”
Following this update, Keenum talked to reporters and gave his thoughts on Wednesday afternoon.
“I feel very ready,” Keenum said. “You know, I’ve been ready. You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready and I’ve been ready since I got here. I’m built for this. This is what I’ve done my entire career.”
Keenum moved to Cleveland in 2020 after one season with the Washington Football Team where he started in eight games. During his time with the Browns, Keenum has appeared in four games and completed 6-of-13 passes for 52 yards.

Incoming 400 yards 3 TD performance because that’s just our luck.
Oh good God, we're going to get our asses handed to us by this train wreck?
Case Keenum revenge game incoming
There are 2 good things that can happen from this game... We win and become 4-3. We lose and Fangio is fired on Friday. I am happy with either option.
If our defense gets smoked by Case Keesum, vic should not be allowed on the plane home.
And Vance Joseph won on Sunday, so yeah, guaranteed loss.
Case Keenum has embraced his role as a backup in the QB room while still preparing to start on a moment's notice ever since he joined the Browns in 2020. Now, the time for Keenum to start has come. "You don't have to get ready if you stay ready."

*snorts this post like it is a drug* let's rock
Idk I liked Case. He ended up getting wrecked by that o line we had back then though. He did have really head scratching picks too.
