The Denver Broncos are preparing for their Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this Sunday. With the day nearing, Broncos star quarterback Russell Wilson said he was ready to rejoin the team after recovering from an injury.

Wilson was sidelined in the 16-9 Week 7 loss to the New York Jets with a hamstring injury. When asked about his condition during practice on Wednesday, the 33-year-old was adamant that he could start on Sunday despite reports claiming he was a limited participant in that day’s session.

The nine-time Pro Bowler added that during the eight-hour-long flight to the U.K., he spent most of his time practicing and stretching his knees.

“I feel great, ready to roll,” Wilson said. “I’m super locked in, ready to get a big win in London. … I feel great, I’ll be ready to rock.”

Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett asserted that Wilson would rejoin the team’s offense in London. He said the QB had “quite a bit” of performance in practice, which convinced him to deploy the former Seattle Seahawk player. Previously, on Sunday, Hackett also said Wilson was “trending” towards returning to the field.

“We’re going to play it by ear. We’re getting on a plane to go to London now, and we’ll be able to know a lot more as we move forward on Wednesday, but he’s day-to-day. I know his mindset; he’s trending in the right way, and we’ll see where it goes from there,” Hackett said.

The upcoming game at Wembley Stadium is part of the NFL’s 2022 International Series. The Broncos and Jaguars will face each other with a 2-5 record each.

The Broncos will be without running back Mike Boone, outside linebacker Baron Browning, and tackle Cam Fleming. They were all injured in the loss to the Jets.

"I was walking up and down the aisles. Everybody was knocked out. I was doing high-knees, working on my legs and everything else, making sure I'm ready to rock."
