The Indiana Pacers managed to beat the Portland Trail Blazers convincingly 129-98 on Sunday.
However, Blazers’ center Jusuf Nurkic, who did not play in the game due to a foot injury, was visibly unhappy with his team’s loss.
One Pacers’ fan seemed to annoy Nurkic, and the Bosnian international left Portland’s bench and started to walk towards the fan.
Nurkic then snatched the courtside fan’s phone and stared at him for a couple of seconds, then threw it away, before walking away and leaving the court.
The fan could be heard saying, “Why’d you throw my phone,” before security intervened and the video was cut off.
One man, who claimed to be one of the security guards during the game, gave his testimony of the incident.
“I’m the security guard,” he said. “The fan was just talking to him in the fourth quarter, told Nurkic he was trash a few times from across the court and that was it. He (Nurkic) came and did this right after the game!”
The NBA is likely to investigate this incident further and possubly fine the center as punishment.
Nurkic has averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.8 assists so far this season with a 53.5 percent shooting from the field.
