Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow left the hospital after being evaluated for possible throat contusion following a 25-22 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor shared the latest update on Burrow’s condition to reporters on Monday, saying that the 25-year-old is “just having a little difficulty talking.”

“Joe’s back in the building. He’s in good shape,” Taylor said. “I expect no limitations from him, but we’ll take it day-to-day as he’s dealing with this throat.”

The third-year coach said Burrow has returned to the team’s facility at Paul Brown Stadium and is expected to play against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.

“As the night went on, he was better,” Taylor said. “As he woke up this morning, he came right in the facility and was ready to go.”

During last Sunday’s game, the former LSU player took a huge hit in the last minutes of the first half, leaving him on the ground for a few moments before he eventually stood up and continued playing.

Burrow finished the game and was 26-of-38 passing for 281 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
