What is Vrabel’s magic touch after bye weeks?

The Tennessee Titans are in uncharted waters when it comes to the playoffs.

For the first time in 14 years, the team has a first-round bye and won’t be in action for Wild-Card Weekend games this Saturday and Sunday.

In the recent past when the Titans have made the postseason, it has been as a team that many times had to scramble on the regular season’s final weekend just to get in the postseason field.

Now, the situation is different as the Titans are one of only two teams – along with Green Bay – that earned a first-round bye.

For what it’s worth, Coach Mike Vrabel has operated very well under extra time off conditions, as the Titans are 8-0 coming off a bye week or a mini-bye following a Thursday night game.

So what is the secret to Vrabel’s success? Part of it is getting each player his own timetable to get ready for the task at hand.

“I think you try and reference some things. I just try to focus on, how much time do we have? What do we need to do? What does each player need to do?
