WBS Penguins Season Paused after COVID Outbreak

The Pittsburgh Penguins AHL affiliate suffered a COVID outbreak this week and will miss the next two games, at least. According to the AHL, the WBS Penguins game Friday at the Syracuse Crunch and Saturday at home against the Charlotte Checkers are postponed.

The WBS Penguins will follow enhanced protocols at the direction of their medical staff and the AHL.

The league has not yet announced make-up dates.

The WBS Penguins will honor all tickets for the make-up game, and their annual Teddy Bear toss was pushed to next Saturday, Dec. 11.

Unlike the NHL, per AHL policy, players and team staff who test positive are not named.
