The Titans reached a deal with linebacker Monty Rice on his rookie contract Saturday, making him the final member of their eight-man draft class to come to terms.
The Titans also placed free agent signee Bud Dupree, who is expected to be their big addition to help with pass rush, on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) along with tackle Ty Sambrailo. Both are recovering from knee injuries suffered in 2020. Running back Jeremy McNichols will also start camp on PUP.
Additionally, veteran defensive lineman Abry Jones, signed by the club in June, on the reserve retired list. First-round pick Caleb Farley, still rehabbing from back surgery, was placed on the non-football injury list (NFI), along with second-year offensive lineman Aaron Brewer.
Rice, a third-round pick from Georgia, was the 92nd overall selection in the draft this past spring.
At the University of Georgia, he totaled 219 tackles in a four-year career, including two sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. Rice also had three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his time with the Bulldogs.
Titans rookies reported to camp today with the full squad reporting Tuesday and the first practice scheduled for Wednesday.
