Still an opportunity for Raptors to make some noise

Very few if any would have circled this game tonight against the Chicago Bulls way back at the beginning of the Raptors’ season and tried to make the case that this was going to be one of the big games of the year.

But that is where the Raptors find themselves today.

Of course very few could have predicted the number of obstacles and injuries and illnesses that would throw this team off its moorings either — to say nothing of the effects of playing an entire season away from home.

So instead of circling the upcoming matchups with the Brooklyn Nets in a way-back-when anticipated battle among the upper seeds in the East, the Raptors are focussed on the stretch right in front of them with Chicago tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday and the New York Knicks on Sunday.

The Bulls hold the 10th and final playoff spot and a two-game advantage over the chasing Raptors.
