SAN ANTONIO – Quinndary Weatherspoon landed on the Spurs’ injury report Saturday after entering the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

The third-string guard is the second Spurs player to miss time due to the health and safety protocols. Reserve big man Drew Eubanks sat out 10 games over a 17-day stretch in January while quarantined in Los Angeles.

Assistant coach Becky Hammon and an unnamed staffer also were quarantined in L.A. during that same period.

The protocol process can last up to 14 days. It’s unclear whether Weatherspoon has tested positive for COVID-19 or is sidelined due to contact tracing.

Weatherspoon played a season-high 10 minutes of mop-up duty before fouling out in Friday’s 125-111 win over the Hawks in Atlanta.

The Spurs traveled to Charlotte, N.C. after the game. They will play the Hornets on Sunday night in the second game of their seven-game rodeo road trip.
