The seeds of the Blue Jays spirit – all that crazy fun, all that outward daily celebration – were not planted by Teoscar Hernandez, just thrown by him.

He doesn’t know why. He just did it one game. A thought came to him. A home run was hit followed by a player showered in sunflower seeds. “I just wanted to do something different,” said Hernandez, the Blue Jays outfielder. “The seeds were there and I threw them. And now it’s a part of this team and what we do every day and who we are.
