One-of-a-kind Luka Doncic rookie card sells for a record-setting $4.6 million

On Luka Doncic’s 22nd birthday, the Mavericks superstar’s one-of-a-kind rookie card became someone else’s record-setting gift.

The 2018-19 National Treasures Luka Doncic Rc Auto Logoman 1/1 sold for $4.6 million, according to an Instagram post on collector Bolillo Lajan San’s profile.

The deal for the Doncic-autographed collectible reportedly marked the highest price ever for a single basketball card and came about two weeks after Doncic’s limited edition Panini Gold Prizm card sold in an auction for $799,500.

With the Slovenian sensation in the midst of an MVP-contending season, prices for rare Doncic memorabilia are likely to continue skyrocketing.

This season, he’s averaging 28.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and nine assists while shooting career-best percentages from the field (47.5%), three (35.1%) and the foul line (75.9%) through 31 games.

One week after celebrating his 22nd birthday, Doncic will start his second consecutive All-Star Game, March 7 in Atlanta.
