Edmonton Oilers centre Kyle Turris certainly recognized the building in Ottawa on Wednesday after playing over 200 home games for the Senators over six years, but not the people wearing their black and red jerseys.

While an NHL rite of passage that players have a real estate agent’s cell phone number handy because they move around so freely it’s no more so than Ottawa where the Senators watched Pittsburgh’s Chris Kunitz score in OT in Game 7 of the 2017 Eastern Conference final. Then they scattered.

Four years later, it’s been almost a total makeover of the old Senators roster, which is now very young and feisty.
