The New Orleans Saints filed just two roster moves ahead of their Week 3 kickoff with the New England Patriots, elevating wide receiver Kenny Stills and center Austin Reiter from their practice squad in standard game-day promotions. Both players will revert to the practice squad on Monday.
What’s interesting is that the Saints only had 51 of their 53 roster spots filled, and neither Stills nor Reiter will count against that number. It means the Saints are likely expecting to activate two of the players on injured reserve who have been sidelined since Week 1, though it’s unclear who that could be. Eligible players to return on Monday include wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith, cornerback Ken Crawley, offensive lineman Will Clapp, tight end Nick Vannett, and kicker Wil Lutz. Stay tuned.
