Letters Jan 22: Fans losing faith in the Oilers as yet another season verges on collapsing

Well, another embarrassing loss for an Edmonton Oilers team that has loads of talent. I’ve supported this team for decades through good and bad times. I’m not angry like many fans are but I’m disappointed, and mostly really confused as to how a team with some of the most talented players in the world can’t seem to get out of this bad slump they are in and have been going through for a while now. Seven losses in a row and just above bottom place Seattle in their division after getting off to an impressive start and owning the top of the standings for a spell, I can relate to the frustration us fans have as we get very optimistic in October/November just like some past seasons then to have our bubble burst before Christmas and beyond. Unfortunately, this is how things will probably continue, same old, same old until they address the elephant in the room which is goaltending. Is it just me or does Mikko Koskinen seem to have the attitude of “meh”? Whatever the situation is internally I may tune back into games if they can right this sinking ship otherwise it’ll be another year of not watching or when in Edmonton going to games. Good luck,…
