ALLEN PARK — The Detroit Lions hold the seventh overall pick in the NFL draft, which means they are on track to pick inside the top 10 in back-to-back-to-back years for the first time since taking Mike Williams, Ernis Sims and Calvin Johnson from 2005-07. (At least they hit on one of those guys, right?)
Here’s our first look at how we see this year’s draft breaking down.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence
I’ve seen a couple folks say they think Zach Wilson is QB1, proving once again that if you look long enough, and want it badly enough, you can find literally anything on the Internet.
2. New York Jets: BYU QB Zach Wilson
The more Wilson tape I watch, the more I wish I would have spent my Saturday afternoons watching BYU football. He’s far from a finished product, but the kid has a hose, he can run too, and he makes at least a couple plays every game that are kind of ridiculous. I think he’s going second in this draft, whether that’s to New York or some other team moving up the board for a QB.
3. Miami Dolphins: Alabama WR DeVonta Smith
Miami is clearly trending up under Brian Flores, but the jury remains out on Tua Tagovailoa. It would be wise to consider investing in Tua’s success, and what better way to do that than reunite him with his old teammate –…
