Jeremy Lin plays well in return to G-League action, Santa Cruz Warriors win eighth straight

After missing six days over the course of 10 days, Jeremy Lin returned to the court for the Santa Cruz Warriors and helped the SeaDubs pick up an eighth straight win, 109-104 over the Austin Spurs in the G-League bubble in Orlando, Fla.

Lin, who had been sidelined with a back injury, started Sunday’s game and played 33 minutes, scoring 25 points.

Rookie Nico Mannion, a 2020 second-round pick who is on assignment with Santa Cruz from the Golden State Warriors, was the standout in the game, scoring 27 points as the SeaDubs’ point guard.

Both Lin and Mannion had four assists in the game. Their production was critical for the Santa Cruz effort, as team standout Jordan Poole — also on assignment from the Warriors — did not play Sunday.

Alen Smailagic, a Warriors 2019 second-round pick on assignment on assignment, started and scored two points in 20 minutes. Former Golden State Warrior Jacob Evans — now on a G-League contract — played 20 minutes but did not score.

Nate Hinton added 14 points and Isaiah Reese scored 17 off the bench for Santa Cruz.
