Dolphins reduced Benardrick McKinney’s contract by $4 million in 2021

The Dolphins envision McKinney, who started 77 games for the Texans, as a potential starting inside linebacker, and value the versatility he brings to the field. But he’ll have to earn his playing time in camp by winning a starting job at linebacker, where he’ll compete with Jerome Baker, Elandon Roberts, Duke Riley and Brennan Scarlett for playing time on the inside of Miami’s 3-4 scheme.
