De’Aaron Fox’s reported weight gain great Kings news this offseason

The transformation of an NBA player is intriguing to watch. Many come into the league after just a single year in college. The draft is filled with 18, 19 and 20-year-olds who not only have to develop their game, but also mature into their adult body.

De’Aaron Fox is a classic example of a young man who has grown up in the league. Drafted in 2017 after a single year at Kentucky, he was rail thin in his rookie season, weighing in at 169.6 pounds at the combine.

Every year he has added to his game, but he also has begun to fill out. Fox came into camp in the 185-pound range the last two seasons, but you could see his body starting to transform this last year. His shoulders have broadened and he has been able to add more weight to his 6-foot-3 frame.

Kings play-by-play announcer Mark Jones states Fox, now 23 years old, has stacked on muscle this offseason in hopes of taking another leap forward.

“He’s 9 pounds stronger. Swole. He’s putting in work. Fox has a calculating, hoopsmart, tight support team,” Jones tweeted on Tuesday evening.

The evolution of Fox as a player has been stunning. He has improved every season in the league and is on the brink of stardom after posting 25.2 points, 7.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season.
