Cowboys sign first-round pick Micah Parsons to 4-year contract

First-round pick, linebacker Micah Parsons signed a four-year contract on Wednesday it was announced. Parsons, the 12th pick overall, becomes the seventh Cowboys draft pick to sign his rookie contract.

Second-round pick, cornerback Kelvin Joseph and third-round selections: defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, defensive end Chauncey Golston and cornerback Nahshon Wright have yet to sign contracts.

Wide receiver playing flag football: The Cowboys signed wide receiver Johnnie Dixon this summer to help with depth at the position. Dixon was waived last season by Arizona with an abdomen injury.

So what was Dixon doing as he waited for an NFL team to sign him?

“I was playing flag football every Tuesday down in Arizona,” Dixon told the Cowboys’ website. “I had to keep my cardio up.”

Dixon wasn’t participating on a team, he was just playing with guys at the park.

“Just me and a couple guys I work out with,” he said. “It was a good time. I didn’t really do too much. I was just the center and sometimes I’d go deep, but I was just chilling for the most part, really just trying to get cardio, honestly.”

Pollard comes in ready: Backup running back Tony Pollard received praise from fans and some in the media for his work in 2020. Some even called for Pollard to take over the starting role from Ezekiel Elliott.
