The Boston Celtics will play the New York Knicks for the first time in the 2020-21 NBA season Sunday at TD Garden.
The C’s have won five straight games and lead the Eastern Conference standings with a 8-3 record.
They also could receive a huge boost Sunday because All-Star point guard Kemba Walker is officially listed as “available” after missing the first 11 games of the season recovering from a left knee injury. C’s center Tacko Fall is questionable to play, and veteran center Daniel Theis is available on the latest injury report from the team.
Forsberg: C’s getting unexpected bench boost early in season
The Knicks had an unexpectedly strong start to the season, jumping out to a 5-3 record through eight games. New York has lost its last five matchups, however.
For the Knicks to upset the C’s on the road, they’ll need Julius Randle to continue carrying them at both ends of the floor. Randle leads the Knicks with 23.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game.
