The Canadiens announced Sunday afternoon that they have sent goalie Cayden Primeau down to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

The Canadiens called Primeau up from Laval last weekend after Jake Allen suffered a concussion. Primeau played two games with the Canadiens, posting an 0-2-0 record with a 4.82 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. With Laval this season, the 22-year-old goalie had a 4-4-0 record with two shutouts, a 2.41 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Samuel Montembeault was in goal for the Canadiens Saturday night, making 33 saves in a 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators at the Bell Centre. Montembeault improved his record to 1-3-1 with a 3.58 GAA and a .897 save percentage.

The Canadiens had the day off Sunday and will practice at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Monday and Tuesday before hitting the road for three games. They will play the Washington Capitals on Wednesday (7 p.m., SNE, SN1, SNO, RDS, TSN 690 Radio, 98.5 FM), the Buffalo Sabres on…
