Now that the NHL expansion draft is over, Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin can focus his attention on this weekend’s NHL Draft and then free agency, which begins next Wednesday.

The first round of the draft will be held Friday (8 p.m., SN, TVA Sports) with the last six rounds on Saturday (11 a.m., SN, TVA Sports).

Bergevin also has to figure out how his team will move forward without captain Shea Weber.

During a video conference Thursday, Bergevin said Weber isn’t expected to play next season and added it’s likely the 35-year-old defenceman’s career is over because of thumb, foot, ankle and knee injuries that had him playing through severe pain during the Canadiens’ run…
