Andre Johnson tweeted support for Deshaun Watson, slammed Jack Easterby’s role with Texans

Former Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson took the uncharacteristic step on Tuesday of speaking out against how his old team is being run, and what it potentially means for Deshaun Watson.

Johnson, who hadn’t tweeted for more than a month, took to social media to express candid thoughts about the current state of the Texans, and the team’s relationship with Watson, its current quarterback.

If I’m @deshaunwatson I will stand my ground. The Texans organization is known for wasting players careers. Since Jack Easterby has walk into the building nothing good has happened in/for the organization and for some reason someone can’t seem to see what’s going on. Pathetic!!!

“If I’m [Deshaun Watson] I will stand my ground,” wrote Johnson, who played with the Texans for 12 years and totaled more than 1,000 receptions. “The Texans organization is known for wasting players careers. Since Jack Easterby has walk into the building nothing good has happened in/for the organization and for some reason someone can’t seem to see what’s going on. Pathetic!”

Easterby, referenced in Johnson’s tweet, is currently the team’s interim general manager. He previously worked for the Patriots in the role of team chaplain, and has been a subject of controversy since arriving in Houston in 2019.
